While visiting New York, we stopped by David Bowie’s memorial outside his home on Lafayette Street. He was a larger than life icon with a career that most people can only dream of: A music legend, a style icon, and a fearless lover of makeup. I remember analyzing how he used blusher in the hollows of his face to emphasize his impossibly high cheekbones. He knew exactly how to get the right look.
Although the flowers had long wilted and the memorial had obviously seen better days, it was still touching to see the tokens of love that people had left for the Starman.
Rest in peace, Mr. Bowie.
